A two day "Meeting on research astronomy" is planned with another two day follow-on symposium on "Astronomy and Science before and after Galileo".
The aim of the former meeting is to bring together scientists in different fields of astrophysics and cosmology to present their recent results and to create an atmosphere for discussion on different topics. Moreover, this meeting is intended to be an intensive program to equip graduate students with fundamental knowledge of several branches of astronomy and is also a good opportunity for young researchers and students to gain experience by joining this community.
Both meetings are occasioned on the International Year of Astronomy 2009. The participants who are accepted in the Meeting on research astronomy are encouraged to attend the symposium on Astronomy Science before and after Galileo as well.
