Dear FIOC community,
In lieu of the current Novel Corona virus event, we have been diligently following the recommendations from various public health agencies including the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Even though the number of positively identified patients are extremely low in the state of Connecticut the consensus is to mitigate closely populated gatherings in order to reduce the possibility of spreading this Covid-19 virus. As a containment strategy, all states including state of Connecticut are now highly discouraging the gatherings of more than ten people.
Therefore, the FIOC board has unanimously voted to cancel all Nowruz festivities including Charshanbehsouri, Nowruz concert, and the Sizdehbedar picnic. FIOC will refund the cost of all purchased tickets for the concert. Please be patient and allow us 4- 6 weeks for handling the financial compensations properly.
We wish you all a happy and healthy Nowruz celebration with your family and a prosperous new year. Hopefully we will be able to host Mr. Mortazavi in our future events. Please stay well and remember the best precautionary measure against this virus is the proper hand washing for 20 seconds.
