The Political Economy of Women's Employment in Iran
Roksana Bahramitash is director of research and chair of Canadian research on Islam, Pluralism, Globalization at Montreal University's Faculty of Theology and Religions. She received her Ph.D. from McGill University's Department of Sociology in 2001 with a thesis focused on the role of women in economic development in Taiwan, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Dr. Bahramitash has worked with international development agencies such as the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). She has also produced a documentray on Afghan women titled "beyond the Burqa", based on her research on women in post-Taliban Afghanistan.
