After their impressive performance at our spectacular open-air opening show on 25 October, Golnar & Mahan are coming back to our Museum for a small intimate gig!
Golnar Shahyar and Mahan Mirarab have been two inseparable musical partners since they first met in Vienna in 2011. They have been nominated three times for Austrian World Music Award with their different bands and been three times selected as NASOM band (New Sound of Austrian Music) and are internationally active for some year playing in many renowned venues such as Philharmonie Berlin, Vienna's Musikverein and Konzerthaus, Porgy & Bess, etc. Their philosophy is to build bridges between the different musical cultures and create a unique sound of their own. In their latest album "Derakht" (meaning tree in Farsi), one can trace their musical origin together with an openness to other traditions as well as courage to experiment. Multi-instrumental, multi-lingual and multi-cultural, Golnar & Mahan is the definition of a real cosmopolitan band.
