The Daryâ Persian Music Ensemble returns to Alix Goolden Hall for the grand opening of the conservatory's Summer Festival in a performance of classical and traditional Persian music by contemporary and ancient masters. This year's programme will feature tasnifs and instrumental music in the modes of Bayât-e Esfehân and Bayât-e Tork, with poetry by Rumi, Attâr, and others.
Performed by Saeed Aghdasi, voice; Faraidoun Akhavân, kamânche and violin; Babak Mehr, tombak and daff; Iman Bulghani, santur; and Douglas Hensley, târ and 'ud.
All proceeds go to the Victoria Conservatory of Music.
