Abbasi is one of the foremost modern jazz guitar players on today’s scene. He’s performed with a diverse array of greats, including Peter Erskine, Kenny Werner, Marilyn Crispell, and his wife Kiran Ahluwalia.
This powerhouse trio is headed by Canadian drummer Sandro Dominelli. A successful composer, bandleader and producer, Dominelli has played with luminaries Joe Lovano, Sheila Jordan, Ernie Watts, PJ Perry, and many others. His most recent CD, The Alvo Sessions, was recorded in New York City with Chris Tarry and Rez Abbasi, two of New York’s leading players.
Canadian-born and New York-based, multi-award-winning electric bassist Chris Tarry is an internationally celebrated artist. He has shared the stage with top musicians such as John Scofield, Ben Monder, Mino Cinelu, and more. Don’t miss his show with Sandro Dominelli and Rez Abbasi at Performance Works at 5 p.m. today.
