Importance of these events:
Artists In Our Midst 2012 celebrates 20 years of creativity in the community! Springing to life in 1992, we are a nonprofit society of artists devoted to highlighting the rich diversity of creative talents and skills of artists living in the midst of the vibrant Westside Vancouver community. Along with participating merchants, educational workshops, and our art supporters; we promote awareness of the power of the visual arts as a community-based resource. Our goals include open-access art education .We are achieving this through using volunteers in art programs at Lord Byng Mini-School for the Arts, performing our public art talks, organizing free access to public art events, and encouraging of emerging artists in the schools. We also seek to promote opportunities for community members to enjoy and enrich their lives by participating with art and artists at their friendly and informal studio settings. Artists In Our Midst is proud of our contribution to Vancouver’s lively art community and we look forward to expanding its horizons with your participation this year!
