The meeting committee has planned a speech jointly held with the IEEE Vancouver section joint chapter of Technology Management Council and Professional Communication Society as well as the regular updates from the Board of Directors and a chance to network with fellow engineers. Dr. Khosrow Nikkhah, P. Eng., will present a speech on the title “Opportunities in Oil and Gas Industry in Western Canada”. A short
abstract on the speech follows.
Abstract
There have been enormous investments in Oil and gas industry in Western Canada in the past few years. These have been accompanied with a shortage of engineering manpower and unparalleled demand for engineering skills. At the same time the industry has been faced with enormous challenges in planning and execution of these projects. An outline of proposed and on-going projects will be presented with examples of engineering resources required.
