Ali Dehbashi is the editor-in-chief of Bukhara, Samarqand, and a number of other Iranian literary journals. In this talk, Mr Dehbashi will share his scholarly experiences right from the heart of Tehran. Mr Dehbashi’s talk will cast light on numerous issues Iranian journalists and authors have to face today to get published, including economical, political, and social issues to name a few. On the other hand, having been studied under the supervision of great masters such as Jamalzadeh, Alavi, Shafiei Kadkani, Zarrinkoob, and many others, Mr Dehbashi holds a treasure of experiences that would be valuable for literature-lovers.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A session. There will also be a demonstration of high profile literary, cultural, and artistic journals of Iran since the 1960’s until the present. A short documentary on the publication of Bukhara magazine and interviews with renowned Iranian authors, poets, and artists such as Simin Behbahani, Mahmoud Dolat-Abadi, Reza Seyed-Hosseini, and Aidin Aghdashloo will also be screened.
