Dr Hessami was the first graduate of Petroleum exploration and production from Tehran University in 1958. He received his Master's degree from Birmingham, England and IHE from Delft, Netherland.
He cooperated in foundation of Polytechnic University and Faculty of Air and Space.
Some of his career activities included:
- Lecturing Hydraulic and Thermodynamic in Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Amir kabir University of Technology
- Automation of Iranian factories (Honeywell instruments)
- Technical Director of Arj Factories
- Chairman of International Society of Hydraulic Engineers
- Founder of Retirement Association of Polytechnic and Confederation Union of Retirement Associations
- General Manager of National Planning and Programming of Fuel and Energy in Cabinet of Prime Minister Amoozgar before Revolution in Iran (1976)
