The American-Indonesian band is comprised of six Indonesian and American virtuosos. The band’s composer and vocalist, Kumayl Mustafa Daood, will accompany the band during the concerts in Iran. They will perform pieces in Persian, Arabic, English and Turkish languages on the theme of love, friendship and peace in Islam during their performances. DEBU’s music is a fusion of East and West, traditional and modern, with a hint of Latin and a touch of jazz.
Over the past four years, the band has become increasingly well known throughout Indonesia and has released three albums during this period. The poems are the words of the Sufi, both mystical and lyrical. The band sings in a number of languages including Indonesian, Arabic, English, Persian, Turkish, Spanish, and Chinese.
DEBU performs regularly in Indonesia. The group sings songs in many languages and now seeks to expand its audiences and spread its universal message.
