This year the miniature paintings mostly focus on the shape of the simorgh (the modern Persian name for a fabulous, benevolent, mythical flying creature) described in Attar’s Mantiq at-Tayr (Conference of the Birds) rather that the simorgh in Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh.
