Join Woollahra Artist in Residence, Bahman Kermany, to explore the lyricism and poetry of Iranian Music. Bahman will demonstrate a variety of traditional instruments, from string instruments like the Dotar, Star, Tambour, Kamanche and Gheychak to percussion instruments like the Tombak and Daf. Bahman will show how each instrument is played and how it relates to Iranian history.
From a young age, Bahman was brought up with musical instruments and music. Having the freedom to playing and his parent’s encouragement has allowed Bahman to explore traditional Iranian Music and he is excited about sharing music from this rich and ancient culture with the Woollahra community.
