After spending 10 days filming in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Steves calls the country “the most poorly understood yet fascinating land” he’s ever visited.
In his new special airing on PBS this January, Steves’ travelogue showcases the splendid moments of Iran’s rich and glorious past and captures the essence of today’s Persian culture and the 70 million people who call Iran home.
From Friday prayer in a leading mosque to anti-American murals to the challenges confronting Iran’s youth, Steves hopes his message and experiences will help us better understand a nation that continues to be a leader in its corner of the world.
