Born in 1941, Nasser Kakhsaz studied Law in Tehran University and worked as a Judge in the Ministry of Justice in Iran. He was in prison for political activity during the Shah and became one of the most celebrated political prisoners of his generation. His dignity under duress became something of a legend. After the revolution, as a result of pressures from the government he was forced into a life of exile. Over, the last two decades he has written many books and articles about the Iranian society, nature or power, use of violence and human and civil rights. He has also published some poetry.
