Bahram Beyzaie, one of Iran's most acclaimed film-makers (director of Bashu pesar'e koochak), playwrights, and scholars of myth is now a Daryabari Visiting Professor at Stanford. His classes are open only to Stanford students and are conducted in English. But Mr. Beyzaie is also offering a ten-week free workshop, open to public, and in Persian.
Brief description: In this course ten examples from International Cinema are introduced with an analytical view of their mythological content in open discussion format class meetings. Each session is two hours long with a ten minute break. All those who attend the lectures are expected to view the related film carefully, from the list below, before each meeting. Participation in the workshop is on a first-come first serve basis. The workshop will take place in Jordan Hall, Building 420, Room 040
