Advisory 16: Some Mature Content and Coarse Language
Imagine being 29 and unable to leave your country.
Nassim Soleimanpour dissects the experience of a whole generation in a wild, utterly original play from Iran. Disallowed a passport due to his refusal to do military service, he turns his isolation to his own advantage with a play that requires no director, no set and a different actor for every performance.
Five performers have bravely agreed to tackle this refreshing interactive play that explores the concept of personal freedom, limits, conformity and choices via an allegorical menagerie of animals. The performers are strictly not allowed to do any research and will only see the script for the first time upon stepping on stage.
Veteran stage and television actors Neo Swee Lin and Sani Hussin, Youtube star and actress Munah Bagharib, Vasantham actress, singer and host Udaya Soundari and MediaCorp Love 97.2FM DJ and TV celebrity Zhou Chongqing (Dennis Chew) will take you down the rabbit hole in this daring theatrical experiment.
Presented in association with Aurora Nova.
Nassim Soleimanpour is an independent multidisciplinary theatre-maker from Tehran, Iran. His plays have been translated into more than 20 languages and he is best known for his play White Rabbit Red Rabbit, written to travel the world when he couldn't.
