PREPARATION
Nature Consortium provides: gloves, tools, a light snack and water to refill your reusable water bottle.
You should bring: a reusable water bottle. If you have any dietary restrictions or feel that you need to eat something more than a light snack you are more than welcome to bring additional snacks or a lunch.
Volunteers must wear work clothes that can get dirty, long pants and sturdy close-toed shoes. We work rain or shine, so please come prepared for the weather! During the cold and wet fall/winter months we strongly suggest that volunteers not wear cotton, but instead opt for fleece, wool, and other synthetic fabrics that stay warm even when they are wet. We recommend packing an extra pair of clothes and a piece of cardboard or other recyclable material to separate your muddy clothes from your vehicle. Please note that even if it doesn’t rain, you may still come across muddy parts of the forest.
Upon arrival you will be asked to sign in. Please completely fill in the information requested of you. This information helps us to track statistics, acquire funding, and it provides insurance coverage for volunteers. It also gives your permission to be photographed, filmed, or have your image used by Nature Consortium and the Green Seattle Partnership. If you do not want to be photographed or filmed please let us know when you sign in.
