During the course of this workshop you will: -learn the recitation and translation of a centuries old Persian poem
-sing this poem in the context of the modal systems
-play the melodic ideas on your instrument
-learn about the history of the Persian language and its literature
- learn about vocal techniques used in this music
-sing group improvisations based in these vocal techniques
-learn about the theory and structure of Classical Persian music
- meet other aficionados and lovers of Persian music, poetry, and culture of all levels and backgrounds.
