The California Multicultural Arts Institute presents Carolyn Krueger's GULISTAN DANCE THEATER in concert! Join us in the Milking Parlor at the historic OCTAGON BARN CENTER in San Luis Obispo for DANCING THE SILK ROAD. Treat yourself to this delightful showcase of rarely-seen traditional dances from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Iran, with stops in the legendary cities of Bukhara, Samarkand, Khiva, Tashkent, Baku and Tehran. Percussionist RON WAGNER, formerly of Cirque du Soleil, will be featured on the Uzbek doira/frame drum.
The concert culminates in a screening of Gulistan's short fantasy film, ENCHANTED DUNE, directed by Aygul Maksutova and filmed at Oceano Dunes. A reception with light snacks will follow.
