Discover the people and ethnic dances of the Persian Gulf and Azerbaijan in this 3 hour participatory dance workshop taught by Asfaneh Ballet member Farima Berenji.
Journey to the Persian Gulf where centuries-old trade between Africa and Persia introduced a blend of high-energy dance and music known as Bandari. From Azerbaijan, Farima will introduce the beautiful and lyrical Nalbeki (saucer dance) and Banovsha (flower dance).
Students are requested to bring two small saucers and two thimbles.
