Let’s join forces to keep the songs of our mothers alive and preserve them for future generations. Let us honor and celebrate a part of our shared identity which has been repressed in Iran for far too long.
As you know, no woman has been allowed to sing publicly in Iran for several years now.
It has been ages since the tender, sweet lullabies of Iranian mothers have been heard in our homeland, except behind closed doors.
The wonderful voices of our nation's female singers have been silenced for decades, even as their whole beings are filled with music and song.
Please come join us in preserving our traditional music for future generations, a dream which has been lovingly nurtured in the hearts of our talented women for years.
Only we Iranians (and certainly not the government of Iran) can work together so that the new generation's future legends -the much revered Ghamars, Parissas, Delkashes and Marziehs of tomorrow- make us proud and bring our traditional songs to the world.
Ghazeleh Faylinejad (Ghazal Fayli), who lives among us today, is one such talented artist. This gathering is an opportunity to support this vocalists who brought this music to us and to our children.
Ghazal Fayli has published two albums in Europe: “The song of The glance " and “Hey You! " With your support publishing of her third album in the US will be possible.
