The 6th annual Festival of the Silk Road
Family fun began at 2pm in the lovely gardens of the Mexican Heritage Plaza Theater with dance workshops, live music, folkdancing and more. A picnic enjoyed with friends and family under the palm trees surrounded by roses! Evening concert performances in the 500 seat theater featured amazing dance, music and poetry from across the Silk Road region including Iran, China, Armenia, the Balkans, Turkey, India, Tajikistan, Greece, Egypt, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, the Roma and more...
Featuring Music guests: Imamyar Hasanov & Pezhham Akhavass, Hasmik Harutyunyan, Edessa Balkan & Greek Music Ensemble, and Zaryab Persian Music Ensemble with Neema Hekmat. Dance Artists: Ballet Afsaneh, ARAX Armenian Dance, Chinese Performing Arts of America, Hala Dance, Shahrzad Dance Company, Tarangini School of Kathak Dance, Vionikos Greek Dance, Aycan Yeter, Yore Turkish Dance.
