Fictionville Studio presents Feathers Of Fire: A Persian Epic
Fictionville Studio is excited to announce the return of Feathers Of Fire to San Francisco for a limited weekend engagement.
Conceived, designed and directed by Hamid Rahmanian, Feathers of Fire was inspired by Shahnameh, the 10th-century book of epic poetry by the Persian poet, Ferdowsi. Feathers of Fire uses shadow puppetry to create stunning “live animation” on a cinema-size screen. It tells the enthralling tale of Zaul and Rudabeh, two young lovers of old Persia. Zaul is raised by a mythical bird in the wild; Rudabeh is descended from the feared Serpent King. Their deep love enables them both to triumph over inconceivable odds, and then give birth to Rostam — the most important mythological hero of Shahnameh.
Feathers of Fire was created in collaboration with San Francisco-based Larry Reed and ShadowLight Productions.
Suitable for all ages. In English. 70 mins. + a demonstration and dicussion with the ensemble.
