Comedy Day is the original, longest-running, FREE outdoor comedy festival in the world. It’s presented on the sloping greens of Sharon Meadow in Golden Gate Park, featuring 40 of today´s top comedians from the Bay Area and beyond.
Comedy Day has hosted many of the biggest names in stand-up, among them: Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Dave Chappelle, Garry Shandling, Ellen DeGeneres, Eddie Izzard, Dana Carvey, and many others.
Comedy Day is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization. Founder Jose Simon’s dream of a free, open-air comedy celebration became a reality in 1981, and since that time, more than 750 of the world’s funniest comedians have performed gratis for more than a half-million happy people.
