Bahrami, a world music instructor at Grossmont College, is joined by two veterans of the local jazz and Afro-Cuban scene. The guembri, also known as a sintir, is a three-stringed bass plucked lute similar in sound to a bass guitar.
The oud is a pear-shaped stringed instrument commonly used in the Middle East and North Africa.
