Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is delighted to host a series of distinguished scholars of Iranian culture during the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 semesters, in addition to screening four Iranian films. This series is intended to provide an open forum for educated discussion about Iran, a nation that is much maligned by the media.
Hamid Dabashi is the Hagop Kevorkian Professor of Iranian Studies and Comparative Literature at Columbia University in New York.
