Last November, a devastating earthquake with a magnitude 7.3 on the Richter scale struck the mountainous regions of Western Iran in Kermanshah and Kurdistan provinces. More than 800 people died and another 8000 were injured. The earthquake left about 70,000 people homeless, destroying approximately 12,000 homes and damaging another 15,000. The Iranian government announced that the disaster has caused at least $5 billion of damage.
Most of casualties are from the rural villages of western Kermanshah Province and the town of Sarpol-e-Zahab. People are in desperate need for all basic items as well as medicine.
All benefits of this concert will be used to help the victims of the earthquake.
