March Speaker:
Dr. Maboud Ansari is professor of sociology at William Paterson University. Professor Maboud is the author of numerous books, academic papers and articles about the theory, practice, and history of sociology in addition to translations of important sociological books into Farsi such as Max Weber's The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism. Professor Maboud's books also include The Making of the Iranian Community in America, and Modern Sociological Theories among others. His most recent book is entitled: Iranian Americans. This book will be available for purchase and author signing at the March Shabahang meeting.
Title of lecture: The Second Generation Iranian-Americans (presented in Farsi)
The second half of Shabahang's March program after a brief intermission will be live Persian music by a flute (Persian Ney) and Daf ensemble.
