Inside Iran Today:
With a rarely granted visa in hand, Buddy Hatton traveled the realm once known as Persia, exotic land of flying carpets and Arabian nights. Today it is a modern country of 69 million people with the world's fourth tallest tower and LED billboards in Tehran contrasting with historical cities, ancient ruins, colorful bazaars, shimmering deserts, and spectacular mosques and palaces.
The San Francisco based filmmaker stated, "I want to give your audience an understanding of Iran's ancient past and progressive present, and introduce them to some of the warmest, most hospitable people they will ever meet." Among many highlights of his comprehensive journey are Isfahan, the cultural center of Iran and its vast Imam Square; important archeological ruins at Persepolis; Yazd, the oldest inhabitable city in the world; the Ashura ceremony; Baktiari nomads; and Christmas Eve mass at St. Simon Cathedral in Shiraz.
Buddy Hatton's travel adventures have been shown on the Discovery and Travel channels and been presented to audiences throughout North America. He will discuss his experiences and narrate the film in person.
