Dr. Ann Guinan is a specialist in Ancient Near Eastern cultures and languages, and a consulting scholar at the Babylonian Section of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Her research specialty is Mesopotamian omens texts from the Nineveh library of the Assyrian king, Ashurbanibal. She taught at the Asia Institute, Shiraz University where she was invited to set up a cuneiform program (1975-77).
