Dastan, one of Iran’s most celebrated ensembles founded in 1990, is joined by Mahdieh Mohammadkhani, a young singer who has gained much attention in recent years for her entrancing renditions of contemporary and traditional Persian music. Dastan has produced many award-winning recordings and performed with such luminaries as Shahram Nazeri, Sima Bina, Parisa and Salar Aghili, as well as with the Liege Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The concert will include a new work by Hamid Motebassem based on Foroogh Farrokhzad’s poem “A Window” - a program that was critically acclaimed throughout Europe this year. Dastan features Hamid Motebassem (tar, setar), Saeed Farajpouri (kamancheh), Hossein Behroozinia (barbat), and Pejman Hadadi (Percussion)
