The Penn Museum and Shabahang, our Iranian cultural partners, have decided to cancel Culturefest! Nowruz to promote the health of our community members. Together, we wish to respect the current recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for large assembly events such as this Culturefest!.

Nowruz, or “new day” in Persian, is an ancient festival marking the start of spring. Celebrate the Persian New Year with friends and family and learn how Nowruz is observed by people in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and beyond. Throughout the day, enjoy cultural performances, art-making, tours, storytelling, hands-on workshops, and a Persian bazaar.
