REZA, A WITNESS OF HUMANKIND
While autumn of 2011 begins with the tenth commemoration of 9/11 attacks and the assassination of Afghan resistance leader, Commander Massoud, the NGO Ainaworld, created by photojournalist Reza in 2001, also celebrates its tenth anniversary.
On this occasion, the American University of Paris is hosting a photographic exhibition of Reza on September 15, 2011 and presents the paintings of street children in Kabul. The event is organized at the request of Madame Celeste Schenck, president of the American University of Paris, and will be under the patronage of the French MP, Madame Françoise Hostalier, Vice-President of the Franco-Afghan Group at France's Parliament.
For ten years, Aina has made efforts to restore a climate of peace and struggled for the establishment of a strong civil society in Afghanistan, through training people for careers in information and communication. In 2009, the American University of Paris paid tribute to this humanitarian work by awarding the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Reza.
The paintings of Aschiana's children
The Afghan NGO Aschiana ("nest" in Dari), supports nearly 10,000 street children in Kabul. In 2008, Reza donated his photographs so that the street children of Aschiana then reproduce them on canvas.

From Nest to Flight
In collaboration with Aschiana, Aina launched the "From Nest to Flight" project with the goal to create a training center in multimedia and the regular publication of the magazine Parvaz (the "Flight"), an informal educational booklet launched in 2002 and distributed free by Aina.
