After much deliberation regarding the times and concern regarding safety, Mark and Norma Maidel traveled three weeks in Iran during May, 2008. What they found, to their surprise and enjoyment, were people who ‘love Americans,’ appreciate their national treasures, and express the same concerns and desires for their country and families as Americans do.
The Persian Treasures, which were their intended interest, were indeed spectacular and date back to the Achaemenid time of Cyrus the Great, 559-530 BC. Throughout history, Persian people have been true artisans – their tile work, mirror detail, carved stone, and engineering feats are remarkable.
This presentation will focus briefly on the disappointing political issues, more on the Iranian people, and most on their exquisite Persian Treasures.
