Jalāl al‐Dīn Mohammad Balkhi‐Mowlana, or more commonly known as Rumi, was a thirteenth century Persian poet, scholar, sufi mystic, and theologian. Join us for a talk to explore Rumi’s eccentric life story and the many intriguing and less traversed facets of his writings and influence before and following his seminal meeting with Shams. Spirituality, lyricality and meaning in his poetry through bilingual recitations are subject of this lecture and more.

Mohammad Reza Khorramian is a passionate Rumi researcher who enjoys exploring the hidden corners of Iran's Semnan province in his spare time. He received his bachelor degree from University of Tehran in Persian literature and currently resides in Central Florida.
