In collaboration with independent Manhattan bookstore Book Culture, the New York-based ethical toy brand, Dr. Bashi™ is branching out with a new educational venture, which aims to bring families together to share delightful Persian children's stories and learn about ancient Iranian culture.
The weekly 1-hour Persian Story Time is a partnership between Dr. Bashi™ and Book Culture, a free program for the advancement of Persian literacy, language and heritage.
Dr. Bashi™ is a Professor-Mom's children's company that makes durable multilingual and artistically-exciting educational toys based on eco-friendly, gender/race conscious and socially-responsible principles.
Company founder and owner Dr. Golbarg Bashi: "Book Culture is a New York institution, one of the city’s top ten independent bookstores which has for years hosted free story-times in world’s major languages. Our children’s story time in Persian will be first of its kind in New York, and possibly the US..."
Bringing Persian tales to the heart of New York, Dr. Golbarg Bashi explains:
"What parents can expect for their children from Persian story time is engaged and playful readings from a carefully selected list of beloved Persian children’s stories, both modern and medieval. It will also be a time for families and our children to come to Columbia University campus where Book Culture is located, and get to know each other, and have fun."
Persian Story Time at Book Culture will be held on Saturdays at 2.30pm, starting on August 9th, 2014. The stories will appeal to children of all ages and are completely free of charge, so no need to sign up.
