Open Music Education presents “RUMI REVISITED”, an evening of music, dance, poetry and prose on December 17, 2011 at Café Orwell in Brooklyn, NY. Reservations highly recommended. $20 admission.

8:00: Welcoming Native American flute music by John Sarantos
8:15: The Sufi teaching tale “Moses and the Shepherd” read by Joe Daoud Martin
8:30: Recitation and Persian devotional dance presented by Anahita Moghaddam
8:35: “The Way of the Heart”: ecstatic poetry recited by TAMIR
8:55: Mevlevi ceremonial music and improvisations on the ney by Tomchess
9:15: Accordion and tar improvised duet by Nima Farzaneh and Naeema Nowrouzi
9:30: “Spontaneous Spirit”: ney and voice by Ilak Naasuz
9:45: “Wind Laments”: song with saz by Joe Daoud Martin
10:00: Judeo-Persian song and chant
10:30: Improvised dance by Korhan Basaran, with spoken word by Gocken Gokcebag and clarinet by Kinan Azmeh
10:45: Group improvisation with all the participants.
