In partnership with NYC's Department of Parks
For three years now, as part of celebrating the ancient persian holiday of Norouz and as part of NIAC's Day of Service, a few friends and I have been volunteering our time to try and give back to the community and helping revive our city's environment.
Norouz is all about the celebration of Spring's arrival and what better way to celebrate than to help plant trees in Powell's Cove Park in Queens, NYC!
In partnership with NYC's Department of Parks, come to plant trees in Powell's Cove Park. Trees provide so many benefits to New Yorkers such as improved air and water quality, reduced pollution, and lower energy costs. Volunteers will be trained in proper planting techniques. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes, long pants, and clothing that can get dirty. Please bring your own water bottle.
Space is limited. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone.
