The 8th Annual Winter Film Awards International Film Festival runs February 14-23 2019, and includes awesome film screenings, cool discussion panels, career-building professional development workshops and super-fun parties at venues throughout NYC. The event concludes on February 23rd with a glittering awards ceremony and hot red carpet gala at NYC’s premier nightclub.

Winter Film Awards is dedicated to showcasing the amazing diversity of voices in indie film and our 2019 lineup is 50% directed by women and 53% by or about people of color.

Difference - Short Film by Ali Asadollahi (Iran, 14 mins) A few young men express themselves in a way in which each thinks he is the one who is right and all of the others are wrong. No one sees any others and all deny their very existence.
Like A Good Kid - Short Film by Arian Vazirdaftari (Iran, 20 mins) Sara, a 22-year-old girl, is babysitter to 7-year-old Matin. One day Matin tells a story that makes Sara plan to steal something from the house.
The Myth of Haftvad Worm Animated Film by Asghar Safar & Abbas Jalali Yekta (Iran, 8 mins) - The girl spins her cotton on a hill every day; one day the wind blows and causes an apple fall from the tree. The girl takes the apple and bites it. She finds a worm inside it and feels pity for it and puts it on a spinning wheel to keep it safe. The worm starts to spin the cotton with a magic dance …
