On Sunday, March 18, 2018, the Queens World Film Festival will have a special screening of two short
animations and a full length film. All three films were made in 2017 in Iran by Iranian directors.
The festival starts with a short animation called “ALPHABETH” about a town and its people that have forgotten
their ABC's. While the people are left without sight, hearing or speech, the words impatiently await being sung
once more. Directed by Kianoush Abedi of Isfahan, Iran.
Next is another short animation called “BLOWS WITH THE WIND” about a scarecrow who becomes a human.
Directed by Hazhir As’adi of Sanandaj, Iran.
The main feature of the festival, will be a full length film called “KUPAL” about a hunter and taxidermist called
“Dr. Ahmad Kupal” who faces an unexpected challenge on the last day of the year. Directed by Kazem Mollaie

Tickets for all 3 films are $15 Adult, $11 Senior and $7 youth.
Film will be shown at the Museum of the Moving Image at 36-01 35th Avenue in Astoria.
