What started as a Zoroastrian holiday, Norouz (translation: new day) has now become a worldwide spectacle and is now considered one of the most traditional Iranian holidays. Norooz occurs on the first day of spring (vernal equinox), a joyous occasion meant to be spent with family and friends.
