About Abjeez: One of the most successful Iranian music groups of the 2000s, ABJEEZ were founded by Iranian sisters Safoura and Melody Safavi in Sweden. The two sisters along with their multinational band have a unique sound blending Iranian soul rhythms with reggae, rock, ska, and flamenco, singing in their native Farsi, plus English, Spanish and Swedish with lyrics touching sharply, at times humorously, on politics, love and everything in between. Critics have described Abjeez as the first Persian Speaking Reggae/Ska band. They truly are a cultural bridge between the East and West and beyond.
About Tan Haw: Tan Haw is a Brooklyn-based trio founded by Nathan Thompson, Ali Ghomashchi and Mani Nilchiani. The band draws inspiration from age old traditions of Iranian folk and classical music to create a repertoire of percussive, melodic rock tunes in Farsi.
