In this lecture, the highly-esteemed Farzaneh Kaboli will discuss the intersection of Iranian folkloric and modern dance.
Farzaneh Kaboli is an Iranian choreographer, and pioneer in combining Iranian folklore dance with modern choreography. Prior to the Islamic Revolution of 1979, she performed widely as a leading soloist with the National Dance Company both within Iran and internationally. Kaboli studied alongside some of the best dancers and choreographers in the word at the Iranian National and Folkloric Dance Academy for three years. She continued her career by acting and choreographing in theater and cinema. Today she continues choreographing and acting, as well as instructing.
