The BeLIND DATE is a parody that follows an Iranian-American couple on their first date at a fancy restaurant. In depicting the couple's comically strained and awkward interaction, the play points out many of the hypocrisies that develop as a result of a narrow and burning concern about appearances and social status. The second act, THE VEDDING, which is the couple's entertaining wedding ceremony, features a humorous exchange of marital vows that further satirize the false ideal of materialism.
