YOU ARE INVITED: Finally, a movie with a powerful, contemporary love story and real heart that will both entertain and give you a reason to think about the impact of America’s current immigration politics. Then please join me on Thursday, May 16 in Beverly Hills for a pre-release screening of the politically-charged new Warner Bros. romantic drama, “The Sun is Also a Star,” based on a best-selling book. I will be moderating a discussion afterward with the movie's director, Ry Russo-Young. Tickets are limited so book in advance.
On June 12th we screen Maiden film screening AT 7PM. Anne Thompson will moderate its Q&A.
We launched She Said Cinema, April 21st, with the new documentary, Wild DaZe.
In addition to producing The Women's Image Awards for 20 years, as part of our mission to advance gender parity and promote women’s stories, Women’s Image Network is teaming with Laemmle theaters to launch a unique and new monthly film screening series called She Said Cinema. Set at the Ahyra Fine Arts theatre in Beverly Hills, we will screen new films which are either created by women or are about women.
We welcome your positive reply and thank you for your time and kind consideration.
Best,
Joy Tuttle
