IABA members and non-members are invited to take advantage of this unique opportunity to meet, greet and ask questions of Congressman Berman, who has been called "one of the most aggressive and creative members of the House and one of the most clear sighted operators in American politics."
A Los Angeles native and lawyer, Congressman Berman has represented the 28th district of California, covering the San Fernando Valley, since 1982.
Of particular relevance to the Iranian-American community, Congressman Berman chairs the Foreign Affairs Committee and serves as the Vice Chair of the Judiciary Committee. In these roles, he has gained increasing influence over such issues as foreign aid, antiterrorism efforts, trade legislation, immigration reform, the Middle East peace process, nonprofilferation and human rights.
