In a moment of profound grief and reflection for Iran and Iranians everywhere, Farhang Foundation presents Light Always Prevails, a special concert honoring the enduring voices of Iranians.
On March 8, we proudly welcome the grande dame of Iranian classical music, Maestra Parissa, joining us in Los Angeles from Tehran for a very rare public performance. Banned from singing in Iran for 47 years since the 1979 revolution, her voice endures as a symbol of grace, resilience, and artistic excellence. We are profoundly honored to create this rare platform for her during this pivotal moment for Iran and our community.
She will be joined by internationally acclaimed soprano Golda Zahra, making her Persian-language stage debut. Together, two extraordinary female vocalists from different generations will share one historic stage.
Performing with the Iranshahr Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Shahab Paranj, the evening will feature works exclusively by Iranian composers, reflecting the depth and richness of our musical heritage.
In place of our previously planned Nowruz festivities, we gather in solidarity to reflect, to mourn, and to find unity and harmony through music.
Light always prevails.
