In recent years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has placed a tremendous effort in demonizing Zionism. Through a brief examination of the birth and development of Zionism, during the past century Iran, Dr. Pirnazar will shed light on the perception of Zionism by Iranian Jews. Dr. Pirnazar will further examine the aspirations of Iranian Jews over the past 90 years, and will discuss the attitudes of different Iranian governments as well as the World Zionist Organization towards the movement in Iran, and will thus explain the current hostile view of the Islamic Republic. Dr. Pirnazar will examine the roots of the present hostility, and will explain the level of support by Iranian people, Jews and others, to the government policies.
