About Kamran Khavarani
Kamran Khavarani was born in Tehran, Iran in 1941 into an artistic family. At a young age, he began studying classical painting with the noted artist, Reza Samimi. While completing his graduate work, Khavarani was mentored by the internationally renowned authority in art and architecture, Master Hooshang Seyhoun. In 1966, Khavarani graduated from Tehran University, where he received a Masters degree in Architecture and a Ph.D. in Urban Design. His architectural works have been recognized with numerous awards, and his artworks have been housed in many private art collections. His earlier paintings were influenced by his classical and formal training in arts and architecture. Since his recent encounters with the philosophy of Rumi, Khavarani has created a rare fusion of styles, now referred to as Abstract Romanticism.
